FAQS
For a business IBAN, you must indicate the IBAN and the SIREN number of the company to which this IBAN is supposed to belong (your supplier for example).
Ibantrack then queries the bank to check in its database whether the SIREN number it registered for this IBAN is indeed the one you entered.
The SIRET number and the intra-community VAT number can also be checked optionally.
For an individual IBAN, the operation is the same except that you must provide the IBAN and the name and surname of the person. The date of birth and a maiden name can also be checked on an optional basis.
Ibantrack directly questions the bank that has this IBAN so that it can carry out the check in its database.
The result is therefore completely reliable and unequivocal, unlike other solutions that verify an IBAN by analyzing data from past transactions or based on the statements of other companies that believe that the IBAN is reliable.
These other methods provide an initial indication, but do not offer a real guarantee of the identity of the IBAN holder and may lead you to make a transfer to a fraudulent account.
You should always provide both the IBAN and the identity of the person or company, and we will confirm that the two are well combined.
We ask the bank to check in its database whether the IBAN holder is the one you indicated to us, if yes the IBAN is considered validated, otherwise there is a risk of fraud or error.
In the event that the identity you have given us does not match, we will not be able to tell you the identity of the real account holder. We can simply tell you that this person or business is not the account holder.
Indeed, banks are required to respect the confidentiality of private data and banking secrecy.
