FAQS

Frequently Asked Questions

How does a bank account verification with Ibantrack work, and what information do I need to provide?

For a business bank account, you must provide the account number and the company identification number (e.g., registration number or VAT number) of the company that owns the account (such as your supplier).

Ibantrack then instantly verifies with the bank that the provided information matches the account.

For an individual bank account, the process is similar: you provide the account number and the full name of the account holder. Optional additional information, such as date of birth or maiden name, can also be verified.

Is the verification result reliable?

Ibantrack verifies the account details directly with the bank holding the account. The result is therefore fully reliable and unequivocal, unlike other solutions that rely on past transactions or third-party reports.

Other methods may provide an initial indication, but they do not guarantee the identity of the account holder and could result in transfers being sent to fraudulent accounts.

Can your solution reveal who owns a bank account? (For example, to find the name of a person I accidentally transferred money to)

You must always provide both the bank account number and the identity of the person or company.

Our solution then confirms whether the two match. If the provided information matches the account holder, the account is considered verified. If it does not, there is a risk of fraud or error.

As banks are required to maintain confidentiality and respect banking secrecy, we cannot disclose the identity of the actual account holder if it differs from the information you provided. We can only confirm that the person or company you provided is not the account holder.

Can I check bank accounts from any country?

Our solution verifies bank accounts from multiple countries, with coverage continuously expanding.
Tell us which country you need, and we’ll let you know if it’s currently supported or coming soon.

Can I check bank accounts from any bank in a given country?

When we support a country, nearly all banks are available for verification.

However, in some countries, a few banks may be excluded due to local restrictions. If you have a specific bank in mind, let us know and we can confirm whether it is supported.

I am an individual, can I use your solution?

For the moment our solution is reserved for businesses only.
